As soon as you add a large, GX8 class EVF to a GX7, you’ve got a GX8. Much of the slightly larger size of the GX8 (mainly a few mm taller) is due to the larger EVF. I have both and the difference really isn’t that great, but the GX8 is just a better handling camera with better external controls, except for that dedicated exposure compensation dial.

The GX7’s handgrip is great. I’d love to see that return in some form over those squarish grips.

This year, a GX8 Mark II is due, not another GX7. So, the GX10 just needs to be a GX8 with a G95 / G9 feature set… or a close as possible.

There's room for a small, mid-tier rangefinder, like the GX9 and a top-tier rangefinder like the GX8. Especially with the current 4-5 year refresh cycle, they could leap-frog upgrades.

GX10/GX8 Mark II … 2020.

GX9 / GX7 Mark IV …2022.

Panasonic offers 3 DSLR form factor cameras, yet somehow they all manage to stay in the catalogue and sell. Same with Oly's EM-series. So, why not 2 rangefinder form factor cameras, especially with a staggered refresh cycle? (I'd like to see a PEN-F Mark II, too!)

GX8 slightly taller and wider than GX7 to accommodate larger EVF.

Agree with everything except the much-maligned dedicated exposure comp dial. I love it. When going out, I like to just glance at the camera to see if I need to adjust some main parameters (would also love to have a dedicated ISO dial, BTW). The size of it is also ideal for frequent use.
