When will Sigma and/or Tamron produce RF lenses?

You misunderstood his post. He was saying they could port MILC specific optics (and correspondingly better "depth of field" and full utilization of the mount) over, but use EF communication protocols for control. They can probably put all the RF pins on and then update to RF protocol through a firmware upgrade. For now there's not much loss of functionality.
