Re: Viltrox EF-FX2 optical element image quality effect

I know the Viltrox introduces optics in the path and I’ve read differing opinions regarding its effect on image quality. What is your opinion?
Only EF-FX2 has the optical booster/reducer element, EF-FX1 does not (where the firmware between the two should be pretty much the same...?).
Unfortunately, I can`t really say I had much chances to test it out properly yet. With a bit of shooting I did, I am basically satisfied, meaning I didn`t notice any obvious degradation in quality - but truth to be told I didn`t specifically search for any, either.
For what I use it for with Canon EF 135mm f/2L, I appreciate larger field of view (approximately 96mm) and more light / shallower depth of field (around f/1.4), where corners will be pretty much blurred out most of the time, for example, so I didn`t really bother to shoot bricks wall (yet).
There can be vignetting wide open, but that is lens dependent.
Here`s a very quick (and quite awful ) direct comparison, using 135mm both with Viltrox EF-FX2 and Fringer (no optics):https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/63357172
I have the Fringer Pro and it works great with all my EF lenses except the Nifty Fifty, where focus hunts. I just use it in manual mode..
Yeah, Fringer is much ahead here, auto-focus being useful - if not very good, even, as some people around here use it for birds-in-flight shooting, too
But not being too dependent on if, I don`t mind manual focusing, either (which I need to do with fully manual lenses I often shoot anyway), where I`m mostly glad I can control lens` aperture (and image stabilization, where provided), and that correct EXIF is recorded automatically.
