We're into our forth week of lockdown in the UK and thankfully have had decent weather for the last few weeks. I live in a heavily light polluted area, but it was a nice clear night last night so I thought I'd have a go at capturing star trails from my garden.

To take the shot I used my Panasonic GX9, with 12-32 f3.5-5.6 kit lens. I shot 120 frames at 12mm, f3.5 for 20 seconds each. I then combined the images using StarStax and blended in the foreground using Photoshop. Given how small the 12-32 lens is and the relatively small size of micro four thirds sensors I'm pretty pleased with the result (although I wish I had a slightly wider lens to fully capture Polaris). What do you guys think? Any pointers on what I could do next time to improve the image?

Thanks in advance.

Jerv.

Nice for a first try. I would have raised the camera just a few degrees to get Polaris better included.
