The Hybrid viewfinder is useless for manual focus lenses and only becomes a burden because the viewfinder curtain opens and closes (it gets annoying), and the ERF is very difficult to focus with. The X-Pro2 EVF's main advantage seems to be the refresh rate. The slightly larger display panel is neglectable since the X-E3's magnification is higher. So if you plan to shoot fast moving subjects, than the faster refresh rate might be important. Overwise, I think its a waste of money to buy a X-Pro2 when the X-E3 is fully capable of using manual focus lenses without the OVF fuss.

Erm, don’t agree with this at all. The curtain is only a “burden” if you’re hypersensitive to it as you seem to be, I doubt most people give it a second thought, I certainly haven’t in four years of using x-pros.

Purely as an EVF I don’t think the X-pro2 has any great advantage, but the ERF option actually works well and allows you to manually focus lenses in an optical view very well. You can also go to fully optical and just zone focus of course.

Zone focusing it going to be difficult with a 35mm f/1.2 @f/1.2, like the OP wants.

Aside from that the XP2 has a lot of finer points - weather sealing, dual card slots, faster shutter, more function buttons etc.

It is a very nice camera that I actually like more than the XP3.
