Switch from X-E3 to X-Pro2 just for EVF (MF)

Erm, don’t agree with this at all. The curtain is only a “burden” if you’re hypersensitive to it as you seem to be, I doubt most people give it a second thought, I certainly haven’t in four years of using x-pros.

Purely as an EVF I don’t think the X-pro2 has any great advantage, but the ERF option actually works well and allows you to manually focus lenses in an optical view very well. You can also go to fully optical and just zone focus of course.

Aside from that the XP2 has a lot of finer points - weather sealing, dual card slots, faster shutter, more function buttons etc.

I guess its personal preference.  I have been using the X-Pro with manual focus lenses for few years now and I don't understand why the curtain needs to open every time you take your eye off the viewfinder.   For quick snaps, pressing the shutter while the curtain is moving disables the half press to focus.  Its a rare occurrence, but it happens. And it probably uses a small amount of battery power every time it opens and closes which can possibly add up over time.

Also the ERF isn't exactly accurate regarding focus point and the magnified view in the ERF on close up shots.  And as for non-native lenses, you need to input the lens focal length into the menu or the frame lines wont line up (in OVF/ERF mode).  That's why I said its a burden and the EVF-only X-E3 is probably a better choice.
