Re: Concerning Possible Promotions

Hi Truman,

Very true. It's been coming for a long time. It seems every few generations there is a pandemic. The 1919 pandemic of an H1N1 variant killed 20 million people on a census and it's estimated as many again who lived in countries without accurate records, The 'Asian Flu'/'Hong Kong Flu' - H3N2 - in the late 60's killed millions too. People do forget, but I nearly lost my mother to it in 1968.

Since then we in the West have had a good run. SARS, MERS, swine flu and bird flu have taken a toll elsewhere but for some reason didn't seem to have the vectors to spread as widely as CV19. And let's not forget Ebola. That's killed 11,000+ in several African countries. The fact that it has a mortality rate of at least 50%, puts CV19 into a different perspective.

To get back to the OP's question, the sales have already started here. It's not the usual Fuji Cashback - it's the retailers offering the cut, presumably to off-load inventory. And they're genuine Fuji Australia imports with warranty - not grey market merchandise. One is doing the 50-230 for the equivalent of USD$99 - cheap lens yes, but that's unbelievable. And the new prices for some lenses aren't that much above what some people have been asking on e-Bay.

I don't think we're anywhere near appreciating the impact of all this yet. We've a long way to go.

Keep well. Regards,

Rod
