I recommend to try both, AF and MF.

Because MF is not always more precise than AF.

  • Depends e.g. on lighting conditions (how good can you really see it in the viewfinder).
  • Aperture can influence the focus. I.e., manually focusing wide open and then closing aperture to the target level may lead to inaccuracy (depends on lens).
