Re: Issue with Technique
1

The day equipment somehow overcomes poor technique... I guess we'll all be professional photographers.

Have no idea if there was no wind, and if this was an adequate tripod. Given lack of specifics provided... I have a pretty good idea of the problem.

At f/8, the 56 prime and zoom on the short end be almost impossible to distinguish if all other aspects were properly controlled. They very obviously were not.

For the record on a Fuji body, at f/8 I will show you how a lowly XC50-230 will outperform a Canon L200/f2.8II on a Fringer... just because one was designed to work together with the other. As for the even-better 55-200, it is sharper than any (non-L) Canon consumer zoom telephoto ever made - by a decent margin... Handled properly it will provide sharp results even wide open at all but the longest focal length.

Work on your technique... light equipment requires it. And don't ever try shooting an outdoor comparison at under 1/60th... even on a decent tripod. As for f/8, every modern major OEM lens will perform just fine... far better than what you have posted. Even those crappy Canon consumer zooms.
