Re: Creative mode on LS2 not working

RedFox, I think we lost the OP. You can read about the use of alcohol products in cleaning some electronic components. I'm not sure how it would help him with the mode switch.

I rarely "fully test out any used device before buying it". Why, might you ask? It's because it depends on the original cost of the item, the risk perceived, and the value when repaired. A lot of times we who are known to repair items are given them to us for free or at such a low cost, that it's worth the risk. Also sometimes, sellers let you return it within a few days if not satisfied. So it depends on the circumstances. In this case, the OP purchased it, but we don't know the cost or the purchase agreement. i often like to buy defective items and more often than not, I'll restore them to be functioning as new. I don't repair cameras, although I did once take one apart. I found that a small screw was missing from one of the tiny circuit boards. When I moved the screw to another location, I got another type of error. I quit after that, because the camera was too old and wasn't worth the effort. I mostly fix computers. I don't fix cars, but I like to watch other people do it on youtube. My next project may be to fix a broken electric mower. I can't find anyone that repairs them. So it's DIY time. My guess (from information I read) is that it is a blown PWM controller due to current surge.

To the OP (original poster old Joe): I hope you were able to solve the problem and were fully able to restore the camera. It's satisfying to do that. Let us know how you did.
