IMHO it's more a reflection of a mature system with all the basics covered (various forum discussions of standard zooms aside) and now a good deal of expansion is via specialty lenses and cameras. The first few years of m4/3, I doubt anybody would have predicted the E-M1X orGH5 or Nocticron or 300 Pro, but now they're accepted as parts of the landscape. It also cannot be overemphasized the lengths to which advanced users are pushing m4/3 gear, so much more capable it now is.

A super-tele prime does not mean we won't also see other, less-unique lenses. But there will only be so many standard zoom
