E-M1 II Poor Autofocus Tracking of Birds in Flight

MOVED THREAD - Forum member IdahoShooted (James) wrote the following:

"I recently have switched from the Canon 7DmII to the Oly E-M1mIII. I overall love the camera, the features, the IBIS, etc.

But so far I am not happy with BIF tracking, it is pretty lacking, IMHO.

I have gone through a lot of settings, but can't seem to improve it.

Even in wide-field focus area it seems to lock on one focus cell and stick to it. It doesn't dynamically follow a bird in the field like the 7D did.

The tracking mode seems to be following a very specific optical pattern which changes as the bird flies, so its no good.

Can you share any techniques?"
