I like the EF 85 F1.4 IS.

The images are outstanding. How much better can it really get.

IS is useful for static subjects.

It also works perfectly on my DSLR, and if I get an M, it will work perfectly on it too.

The thinner barrel makes for better handling, IMO.

Half the weight.

950g + 150g for the adapter (EF 85/1.4L) is not half the weight of 1195g (RF 85/1.2L)

Half the price.

Actually can get it for ~$1100 vs  $2700  and Canon is selling refurbished adapters for $40

There are so many things I want more than an R5. I don't shoot a lot of action, so the R is almost a perfect camera for me, particularly with stabilized lenses or a tripod.

Size wise I know exactly the size of both and even can directly compare it to the FE 135/1.8 GM I currently own which is the same weight as the EF 85 9 w/o adapter and length of the RF 85 as you can see below

Sony FE 135/1.8 GM vs Canon RF 85/1.2L vs. Canon EF 85/1.4L IS with EF to EOS R adapter.
