Re: Has anyone compared the SX60 or SX70 to the FZ80?

Look for posts by Avian2016.
Of the Panasonic Compact Camera Talk forum veteran users (Avian2016, Sherman Levine, DUBTEMPLE, Stevie Boy Blue, etc.) all have moved on to other long zoom bridge-type cameras; i.e., Avian2016 to SX70 HS, Sherman Levine and others to one of the Ninon Coolpix 9## cameras.
I have the FZ200 (and SX50 HS) mainly bought the FZ80 for the longer zoom length. Was hoping to use the FZ80 in lieu of the FZ200 and the R&R of the lens adapter/ TC.
But the 'overall' IQ of the FZ80 was noticeably poorer than the FZ200, and of course the SX50 HS's 12MP sensor.
Pro's of FZ80 over the FZ200 (and SX50 HS) faster overall operation/ AF speed. Far superior EVF than the SX50 HS.
Yes the FZ80 'can' provide 'good' IQ with the right conditions:
• GOOD Daylight Lighting (as lighting decreases, IQ decreases)
• Low ISO settings (which is difficult with the tele small apertures)
• Main subject (i.e., bird) 'FILLS' the image area
Would highly recommend reading several of the full F80/ FZ82 Reviews (e.g., Imaging Resource FZ80 Review HERE) that have full size sample images you can download and view on your system, as the majority of the FZ80 images I've seen posted are generally downsized to small resolution sizes.
Can also glance through a couple rather lengthy FZ80 Pros/ Cons threads HERE and HERE.
All depends on the intended use of the images. If one mainly wants small resolution images to share online, with good daylight and low ISO the FZ80 will be 'OK' for its' low price.
FWIW
Several FZ80 PP RAW images downsized:
