Re: D500 high ISO with Topaz DeNoise AI

Topaz DeNoise AI , when used judiciously as a Lightroom plug-in, has made a huge difference to my bird pics. Basically, I rarely makes prints or huge enlargements, and as I use a 300 f4-PF lens, often with a 1.4x TC, and hand-held, I often have to crop a lot for small or more distant birds. Now with 1 or 2 clicks using the AI Clear option my final outputs at this size are as sharp and noise-free as many I have seen taken with far more expensive and heavy lenses. Here are 2 recent fairly heavy crops using this workflow, as examples - taken in rain and poor light in Costa Rica, both at ISO3200. Best seen at original size.

Olivaceous woodcreeper

Black-bellied Hummingbird
