Here's an image from the above link:

Wandering around with the CMYK color-picker one can find many areas with lots of magenta% in the CMYK values. Besides which, just looking at this image screams lots of purple/fuchsia/magenta colors. But, had the actual sky color been pure blue all over, Macrae would have likely tossed his Quattro in the trash!

Out of  curiosity, I tried to find some pure blue in the image and got pretty close here:

Up in the top left-hand corner ... hue = 239.7, as near as dammit pure blue. But look: in CMYK that same area "contains" as much magenta as it does cyan - and yet the blue is blue with no trace of a cast.

I guess it's because blue is a secondary color in CMYK space and requires equal dollops of cyan and magenta ...

The more knowledge applied to a picture, the better it will be ... on average.
