Hi Guy,
Just had this for 2 days now...,.is it normal for the focus manual focusing ring to feel kinda coarse ,raw or sandly....not sure what the right word to use....but definitely not feeling as smooth as some of the interchangeable lens I own with other systems before ? Not sure if it's suppose to be this way or that I'm being over sensitive
Anyone who own this beauty care to share some information😌
Hi
just want to share my experience: it definitely ain't supposed to be that way - my 1st X100V had the same issue, manual focus ring feeling kinda "gritty" - as if there was sand in it. Luckily my dealer was so kind to exchange it for a second copy which was OK: this one had a smoother sliding action. However I'm still hearing a metallic sliding noise - the manual focus decoder spring sliding on the inner surface of the focus ring. Ok for me, but I have to say my XF lenses are even better: no sliding noises, just smooth rotation ...
Guess this is the fate of us early adopters, experiencing some teething problems
Apart from that the X100V's image quality is phenomenal! With the improved lens, the tilt-able screen and the weather sealing (provided the lens is protected by the AR-X100 adapter and a 49mm filter) this camera is for sure the most mature & love-able iteration of Fuji's X100 series!
cheers, Hendrik
Hello,
Didn't remember having this on my X100F (meanwhile traded in). Checked another X100F at my AD today - it IS much more smoother & no metallic sliding noises at all ... Dunno why Fuji changed this - even the lens is new, why change the manual focus ring? kinda weird ...
