Re: New Insta360 3d camera One R - 1 inch sensor twins

I found the cropping to 1920x1080 gets rid of the majority of warping, but for horizontal straight lines, there remains curvature caused by the lens. For non-linear, natural scenes, I find the distortion undetectable.

i am very curious whether and when they will in fact have a 3D version with the R... Excited by image fidelity but the mockup posted earlier looks awkward... I have to say the EVO is pretty amazing for the small and versatile size... I suggested to insta360 to add a removable rechargeable battery and mic port. I wonder how big the market is for 3D, and imagine the resources they direct to it is proportional. Seeing the interest here is wonderful to behold... As VR headsets spread, I imagine that will solidify the market for compact 3D VR. I tried some macro work recently, and it is phenomenal. Shifting the camera slightly while taking still images with the EVO (to achieve very narrow inter ocular) I used two successive images (photoshopped to be l+r stereo images) from the same lens to create 3D closeup of the boreal forest floor... And In a VR headset, it was phenomenal to see a spider web tower overhead. Just a remarkable little camera in a remarkable 3D medium.
