Does anyone know the max size ext tube you can use with a Canon 5D MkIV with a 100mm Macro?

I don't understand why you'd have the lens that close to the subject. Most 100mm lenses are about 72mm at their closest focus point, so you should be able to add 72mm of total extension and get to 2x, although using a 2x teleconverter is a better option.

If you're trying to use auto focus then you're gonna be disappointed. Even if the lens/camera could auto focus above 1x it won't put the area of acceptable focus where you need it to be, so you're going to have to manually focus the scene.
