So, just to be clear, you are saying

green blobs in the EVF. They replaced the viewfinder and the rear dial and brought the camera back to specs, although the rear dial in my opinion was not needed (already replace once and working perfectly).

and you then think the E-M1 should be worth more? Because its been fixed twice?

Agreed, but there seems to be a clear disconnect between Olympus great gear and forgiveness because Olympus fixes it. It shouldn’t break in the first place.

Why would great gear that is prone to breaking be worth as much as equally great gear that never seems to break.  Considering that this priced second hand gear is well out of Olympus warranty.

If it has been fixed already then it may not break again but on the other hand the buyer cannot be sure of this and I am equally sure that the Olympus will fix it at a cost - more likely more than the buy price.  At best perhaps KEH will refund the purchase price.

A quote on my 6-months old Australian sold E-M1 where they tried to avoid warranty for duff rear wheel (since new) and yellow blobbed evf was “high AUD$400’s” of which the wheel part was something like 50-cents.  After some eloquent protest and some paperwork from the original Australian purchaser they relented and made the repair under warranty anyway.  Therefore the ANZ version of Olympus repairs did not actually cover themselves in glory.  Smaller market I presume.

But should I have had to argue about this within warranty claim anywhere in the world for repairs of a nature that were well known and of a “merchandisable quality” nature?

The excuse always seems to be that Olympus has such a great repair centre so it is ok.

But let’s be clear - it seems that Olympus must have improved their QC since the E-M1.

Not at all, just an observation of pricing when selling it to a retailer. I am just pointing out the percent lost to depreciation or manufacturing issues is greater with the EM1 than the GX7 even tough I think the EM1 is a better performing (and still is for my use) than the GX7.

With that said, I prefer the GX7 form factor when traveling that requires compactness and lightweight with a couple of primes or a light telephoto like the Oly 9-18, 45-150.
