I regard this thread as totally superfluous and a waste if time.

When you use the OVF you don't run across the issues raised by the OP?

I use the OVF most of the time on my X100F and the points the original poster makes, agree with them or disagree with them, are good ones.

1. The space outside the 35mm framelines matter and it's a balance/judgment call by Fuji. For me, I want approximately a 28mm field of view with 35mm framelines inside of it, as that allows me to use a WCL with the OVF.

2. Parallax issues relating to the positioning of the autofocus point - I usually don't get too fussed with this, but it's clear that users such as the OP and the Fuji engineers themselves are very concerned with this issue having designed that weird two AF points boxes due to parallax.

3. Is the autofocus area big enough or small enough in the OVF? I agree that there are serious balancing issues in trying to get a pinpoint AF point with being able to accurately point that point as well as having the AF hunt around if it's too small for enough contrast.

I recognize that these points may or may not be superfluous and a waste of time to you, but they are not to me in my actual use of OVF in the X100F.  I have to imagine many people actually using the OVF run across these issues and agree or disagree with the balance/approach Fuji decided upon.
