YES..you nailed it on the new phones. Not for me.

I just could see how people could think the G9X was tricky to use within its operating setup which i never found to be the case.

I am sure if Sony had gone for the 2/3" sensor like Fuji in their X10 rather than the 1" sensor cameras would be a lot more compact and affordable and perfectly usable.

Looking at how long it took Sony to work up to a long zoom RX100 and the enormous size of the RX10. You can imagine the Sony lens designers muttering whose daft idea was it to use this great big sensor for compacts just because it was called 1",oh  marketing, say no more.
