Bought a new (used) camera and having vignetting problems - pls help

Hi guys, first time poster, longtime lurker!

Recently purchased a used Canon EOS 1V 35mm camera and also bought the Canon 24-70 2.8 to go with it.

I just got my first couple of test rolls back from the lab and half of the photos have this strange vignette arch covering the entire top third of the image (all shot vertically).

I've attached an image so you can see the problem I'm having

It seemed to only happen on half the shots, mainly ones with blue skies in the back.

Everything was shot between f5.6 and f9 IIRC and on 400 speed film if any of this information is useful. And I'm not seeing any vignetting through the view finder while shooting :/

Does anyone have any insights on what is happening here? Any advice/thoughts would be greatly appreciated, I haven't had this problem with any other camera I've owned.

Thanks šŸ˜Š
