Hopefully they will be able to convert their Sony Fe lenses to Canon RF soon. Canon makes great L glass but often seems to intentionally degrade their non-L glass. Not always true (example: EF 35mm f2 IS).

The non-L lenses are not degraded L lenses. In most cases, they were some of the best lenses of their design at the time they were designed. They didn't have certain "luxury" features such as weather sealing, but it's not accurate to say they were "degraded."

correct, my 35 f2 IS and 24 f2.8 IS are hardly degraded lenses

Hell some of the ancient non-L glass like the OG 24/2.8, 85 1.8, 100/2, even the old 24-85 USM are pretty good.

I also hope Sigma and Tamron start porting their stuff over but as long as one isn't squeamish about adapting there is plenty of choice in the EF realm, with little to no loss in functionality depending on your use case.
