NX500 burst mode
NX500 burst mode
Feb 27, 2020
I was just wondering if anyone knew whether there were any advantages to using the 30fps burst mode compared with shooting in UHD and grabbing frames?
From what I can tell burst mode downsizes images to 7mp but uses full frame readout; UHD crops the frame significantly and produces 8mp captures.
Also, burst mode locks the autofocus whereas UHD of course allows CAF.
Has anyone noticed any difference in image quality? I would have thought it'd be quite similar, as both are using the electronic shutter. However, I'm not sure in terms of compression whether the burst images would be of higher quality?
Edit: UHD has the further advantage of being able to shoot continuously for 15 minutes whereas burst mode would probably stop after a few seconds (unsure of the exact limit).
