Now the thing is I'm also thinking about getting a 16 f/1.4, so I'm wondering about the redundancy with the 16-55.

The redundancy depends on what you use them for. If you're shooting landscapes or travel photography with enough light, then the focal length is the main attribute and 16-55 is good enough that the prime is redundant. That's also true with the Sigma and the 16mm prime; 16 vs. 18 is different, but not enough to carry another lens. The Sigma has a closer aperture value to the prime, so I'd say the redundancy is actually greater in that case.

Also the additional 20 mm on the fuji are not that big of a plus for me, since I've got the 35mm+ focal lengths already covered with primes.

So my question is aimed towards anyone who has had the chance to test these lenses in this setup.

Thanks.

The 16-55mm I own is great, and from what I hear the Sigma 18-35 is as well. One has greater focal range, the other a greater aperture. There's not that much more to it, you know better than anyone here which is more important to you.

For me, that is focal range, because focal length is by far the most important attribute of a lens; that's why lenses are named after their focal length first, and other attributes second. If you value f/1.8 higher, then the choice is clear in the other direction. Good luck!
