Dust or birds?
3

I bought a DP1M from a seller on the "Big A" and just got it yesterday. I've been curious about the Merrills from reading this forum, after acquiring an SD Quattro about a month ago. So I took it out for a spin yesterday evening right before sundown. The clouds and color weren't spectacular, but interesting. I took some shots with a lot of sky and later processed them from raw in SPP. This one caught my eye especially.

If you look at the original you should be able to see some dark specs in the sky on the right side. Here is a crop of the same area:

I immediately panicked and thought I had a lot of sensor dust, but then after looking at other sky shots I realized this was the only one showing the specks. Also, they are all the same size, so I realized they must be high-flying birds. I'm guessing they were vultures, which we have a lot of around here, but usually they are much closer to the ground looking for a meal. Anyway, I was very relieved that there is no dust on the sensor.

Here are a couple of other shots from last night; I'm pleased with the DP1M so far.
