How to test kit lens 15-45mm for good/bad copy
1

I've got 2x M100 with kit lenses - that was bought new, about a year ago (should be new copies ?) From the forum, I've heard about bad/good copy of the kit lens.

If I'm going to test the kit lens in door , with enough lighting.

What would be the suggested parameters such as :

- distance (camera to subject) ?

- which mm range / aperture ?

- using standard test chart ? or similar objects placed across center to edge ?

- others

I would think the test would be checking for sharpness from center to edge. What else should I be looking for ? How much % should I zoom into the picture up for pixel peeping ?

It will be great to gather many ideas to test it, I'm sure these procedures would be useful to test other lenses as well.

Thanks!
