Upgrading to the 5D MK IV would mean me not only upgrading my 2009 Macbook Pro but also my current versions of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.

Why would you have to upgrade Photoshop?

I'm currently using Adobe Photoshop 2014.

That doesn't answer my question. Why would you have to upgrade PS 2014 if you had a 5D iv? (The reason I ask is because I'm using CS6 -- released in 2012 -- and I haven't needed to upgrade.)

Oh. Well thanks for clearing that up. I was told by the guy at Apple that I would need to upgrade my current version of Photoshop.

I think he was mistaken. It might have been a good idea to ask him why he thought an upgrade would be necessary.

I think you're right Sabrina. I guess in the end it only helped me make my final decision to go with the MK II.
