Hi,

I currently have the 50-230 II which is fine but a bit short on the long end.

The 100-400 is fine but super heavy and super expensive so its out of scope.

Buying the Fringer II adapter (~250€) could be a solution but then the Canon lens should be cheap (200-300€) and also work properly.

If I move out from the Fuji body there are other solutions within this budget (e.g. a super zoom compact or a cheap Oly M1 with the 75-300).

So are there any cheap, with good IQ and relatively small, light long FL solutions for Fuji X?

Thx

The Fringer II Pro works great with my Sigma 150-600 Contemporary in all focus modes.  As it's heavier than the Fuji 100-400 it's not an option for you.

There are many lens in the Canon EF mount that you could consider and a few have already been mentioned.  One that was left out and is superb is the 400mm f5.6 L.  It is super sharp and focuses very fast.  It was the go to lens for birds in flight on Canon for many years,  Another lighter choice would be Canon's 400mm DO.

What are you planning to photograph.  This makes a huge difference in what lenses you should consider.
