Is My XF 23mm F1.4 A Bad Copy?
1

Hello,

I heard that this is one of the sharpest primes in the X line, but I'm having real trouble at lower apertures. There's just way too much chromatic aberration, but what's more of an issue is that it is just almost unusably soft at F1.4 which is really the main reason I bought this lens instead of the lighter, quicker and cheaper 23mm F2. I'm quite new to the Fuji system, so I don't know if this is normal or if I have a bad copy. I've inserted images taken at ISO 200 with auto SS at F1.4, 2, 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11 and 16 at constant EV. And yes, I've made sure to use a tripod The focus on all these images is right in the centre, on the barcode, which I thought would be a good reference point. I've shot all of these on the X-T2 and these are all straight out of the camera JPEGs. Thanks for all your help
