Help! AF-S 70-300mm VR ED Nikkor Zoom Lens With a Loose Roller

After a drop, (DARN!) my lens won't auto or manual focus and something was rattling around inside. A search on Google led me to believe it might be a loose roller, and upon inspection, that is the culprit. The roller can be seen in the center of the attached photo.

I found the loose roller inside and have placed it back on it's pin, but it's unlikely to stay there as the small black washer that holds it in place is missing. Even if I had it, you can see in the photo that the tiny protrusion it snaps onto is broken/missing as well.

Any thoughts on where to source the small washer? If I had one I could likely epoxy it onto the pin, (without getting any on the roller) the roller would remain in place, roll as it should and all would be well.

I'd rather not send it in to Nikon for repair as I'm sure the repair would cost more than the lens is worth.

HELP!
