Unlike Sony who opened up the specs for the E-mount, Canon and Nikon continue to keep a closed system which just hurts their customers. I see Canon getting ready to release their consumer non-L glass with ridiculous f/ specs. I have been using Tamron SP G2 release lenses EF on my EOS R. I also bought the 24-105 f/4 L. For a f/4 lens it is a very high end kit lens. That being said, I will wait for Tamron RF lenses which if the same quality as EF (probably better because of RF communication). If they price the around the same as EF, they will provide high quality lenses in the 899-1399 range.

There are already third party RF AF lenses. It took way longer for third party AF lenses to come to Sony despite their open protocol.
