Z7/Fringer CF-NZ/Canon 100-400ii

Not a true review-- just my initial thoughts.

I've lusted for the Canon 100-400 for some time, but didn't want to change systems. So when it became available I ordered the Fringer adaptor and the 100-400ii.

First of all. it works. The functions, focus points, focusing, all seem to be normal. Autofocus seems a tad slow, but didn't use the limiter switch, so that might speed it up. I just went out on the porch and shot a few test shots.

I've been ill, and I was a bit shaky but the VR  compensated almost all the time.

Negatives: shoots dark-- I would recommend exposure compensation. Vignetting-- fairly pronounced but improves when stopped down.

Weight is OK. Solid build. Don't care for the white.

SOC  with exposure adjustment only.

Good sharpness (100% crop)

Accidentally put this up twice. Sorry.

Out of focus areas are good-- wide open, close focus.

100% crop

Excellent sharpness-- did not sharpen in LR
