Permanent AF-C?

I could try this myself of course but just thought I’d throw it out there for the learned folk around here.

I have often wondered whether permanently leaving my Z6 in AF-C, even for static subjects, has any -ve effect c.f the dedicated AF-S mode. I realise that I could not use PIN focus and the focus points wouldn’t go green (!)  but apart from that...

The new firmware has made me think about is as one less ‘stage’ to go through to initiate tracking - just to Auto of course, and then off you go.

I even wondered about saving this set up to a U memory but as I haven’t really played with them yet,  I’m not sure whether it would save everything required?

Im going to try all this, and hopefully answer my own question, but thought I’d throw it out there - am I missing something blindingly obviously negative about permanent AF-C?

You may think that - I couldn't possibly comment.
