Appreciate advice for a good portrait lens (lenses)

Hi - I’m a relatively new photographer (for about a year, since retirement) but I’m an intense (obsessive?) photography learner!! I love hill walking/hiking and shoot mostly landscapes with a used X-T2, a used 18-135 and a Samyang 12mm. I shoot raw and I’m pretty comfortable (in fact I really enjoy) post processing with Capture 1, ON1 and Affinity.

Grandchildren - gulp - are coming and I think I might be expanding in to portraits I don’t really want to get into lights, so it’ll be ambient/natural light, indoors and outdoors. I’m on a budget and happy to buy used gear (we have some really good, trust-worthy used sellers in the UK). Shots will mostly be shared digitally amongst family and friends via SmugMug etc - but it’d be nice occasionally for some of the better ones to end up as prints (I use a good print shop in London)

I would really appreciate some experience-based lens advice! If you were in my shoes, what lens (lenses?) would you be getting for my foray into portraits?

Many thanks in advance.
