When researching I found that the Pana 20mm 1.7 has outdated focusing speed, while the Pana 14mm and Oly 17 mm had less than stellar IQ.

The IQ of these lenses is plenty sharp enough for Street Photography. The object there is to capture an image which captures a contextualized image of something you see in a urban environment.

You get judged on content almost exclusively - possibly more than any other facet of photography. IQ is a log long long way down the list behind, content, context and timing.

One could (and I do) argue that this is the standard for all photography. Sometimes technical aspects work their way into it, especially in landscape, but it’s the image that matters.

Agreed.

Landscape and (especially) macro photographers seem to be very very fond of super sharp images. But at the end of the day if it isn't a compelling subject then you may as well be doing lens tests on brick walls or evaluating the "boke-ness" of your images by taking cat photographs!!

Roger Cicala takes photos of his cat to check the fine resolution of lenses ... .

I take lots of photos of our two because one gets attached to the creatures who have shared our lives for just over 20 years. Not likely that they will be around all that much longer ... .
