Oly 12-45 why?

In watching the online ads for the Oly 12-45, I find myself wondering who this lens is for.

I've come to the conclusion is an advanced kit lens, suitable for bundling as an entry-level kit lens. It serves to reinforce the "m43 is small" idea.

Here is how its size compares to its nearest competitors:

Oly 12-45 254 grams, 63 x 70mm

Oly 12-40. 382 grams, 70x84 mm

Pan-Leica 12-60 320 grams, 68x86 mm

Pan-Lumix 12-60 210 grams, 66x71 mm

Having tried both the Pannys and owning the Oly 12-40, I don't think this is a lens for me.
