Time lapse with an RX10M4

I want to shoot some extended (6-8 hours) time lapse video. Unless I'm missing something, the internal battery won't last that long. I tried an external power pack. Again, unless I'm missing something, either the camera stays switched on or the camera charges while the camera's switched off but not both. Is there a workaround? I'm thinking of an adapter that replaces the battery and accepts an external power source (e.g., USB power pack).

BTW, I used a USB volt/ammeter between a powerpack and the camera, switched off or on, the camera draws about .4A.
