Nikon D750 + Tamron 35mm f/1.4: What's wrong with this lens?

Hi everyone,

Few months ago I bought the Tamron SP 35mm f/1.4 after having read so many positive reviews and it's indeed a fantastic lens and I love using it on my D750.

The other day, however, I took some pictures in a park and when I came home to develop them in Lightroom I found a very weird behavior that I haven't seen before.

The out of focus areas have a very strong halo around them that is visible in the raw files.

You can see below 2 examples that have been cropped to 1:1 and that show this effect quite clearly:

DSC_6804

DSC_6817

You can download the raw files from here:

What could cause that? Is it just chromatic aberration? If I toggle the chromatic aberration correction in the develop module of Lightroom it doesn't make any difference to the halo.

Thank you

Andrea
