I've used a few different plates (from PD, Kirk, Jobu, Sirui, etc.) and didn't really feel like they needed that much more torque than my RRS L plate in order to be secure and not slip... The 1/4" socket has pretty coarse threads too, I'm not sure over torque is some big potential hazard here. I do hope Oly comes to the aid of the guy that posted the video and Lee who posted a month ago but hasn't gotten in contact with Oly yet (from what I saw reading the previous thread).

Knowing Oly's response will indeed be far more valuable (IMO) than any amount of speculation.
