interesting observations!

A problem is that Olympus cameras have a history of failed strap lugs, inviting some folk to use the alternative of single attachment at the tripod plate threads )-;

AFAIK that was just wth the E-M1 (original), not excusing it but I never saw people complaining about it with other models, did you? (honest question) The E-M1 had a rash of QC issues (the lugs, dials falling off, display case screws coming out, EVF sun burn in) that were mostly solved with time... By the point that the E-M5 II came around you didn't really hear about any of that, from what I saw anyway.

It's always seemed odd to me that Oly continues to push the tripod socket so close to the front edge of the body tho.

Well, I had to send my EM5II in for service when both lugs became loose. One of them was almost detached.

I did report it here on this forum and I did see others report it also.

Thanks for sharing, I didn't see much of it and I was pretty active around here back then but I clearly missed some. Guess I got pretty lucky with my E-M5 III, they've never loosened and I've never even seen the eye cup come off. (I know just about everyone has complained about that one)
