Olympus is smoking the best of drugs. $2,400 CAD for a camera that is marginally better than its predecessor and its direct competition, the G9, is $1,200 - $1,500 CAD. You can buy into full frame for less than the E-M1 III. I'm genuinely worried about the future of Olympus.

All cameras for the last 10 years are marginally better than the previous ones. In terms of IQ, there has been relatively little improvement.

If you consider the camera to be marginally better than other less expensive ones, then you certainly should not purchase the more expensive camera. For some, your marginally better, is a very important difference.

If the FF gives you everything want you want for less, then you certainly should get the FF. There will always be FF and APS cameras that cost less than the more expensive mFTs cameras. There will be other things that the FF or APS will not do as well, but if those things are not important to you, then you should get the less expensive option that has a larger sensor.

You should worry about the future of ILC cameras. As the market contracts, fewer manufacturers will be able to make a profit. Olympus hasn't made a profit in years. They have always said the camera division is critical for their other operations as the reason they have not closed it.

Panasonic dropped (sold) their semiconductor division this past November. If the camera division doesn't make a profit, will they also drop (sale) it, since it is not critical for the company.

It is actually quite difficult to sell a money losing business unless they are absolutely desperate, get whatever little they can get.
