Another case of the E-M5iii tripod mount failing

Panasonic got it right....

The Panasonic G1 was mostly plastic, I used it in all kinds of environments down to -20F and attached it to various lenses, tripods and mounting plates for about 4 years without any problems. I was using the fairly beefy Lumix 45-200 lens and also the Lumix 100-300.

I did not hear about any other users having with the tripod mount cracking.

I think that Panasonic got the materials engineering right, and Olympus did not.

There were some jokes about Panasonic also selling toilet seats and toasters, but if you don't your materials engineering right those fancy Japanese toilet seats aren't going to last long, especially when a guy my size uses them.
