So far, reported here at DPR, there have been two E-M5III with nearly identical failures in the past couple of months. That's small numbers for sure but also there aren't very many E-M5III in the field yet.

I can't think of a similar tripod socket failure being shown on any m43 camera in the past ten years here at DPR (though I certainly could have missed some at this point my search attempts turn up nothing).

So having two fail so quickly and in the same way is definitely unusual.
