Specs or performance, which is most important?

Performance; hands down

Performance. Easily. No amount of resolution or auto focus points will help you if the camera can't keep up with the situation you're using to use it for. I would rather have a camera with modest specifications but smooth, fast, reliable performance any day. I shoot mostly people in concerts situation. The subject matter, lighting and framing are constantly changing. Therefore, I need a camera that can keep up with the dynamic nature of concert photography. Maybe if I was shooting landscapes or static subjects, I'd say specifications. But I don't, so the answer is pretty cut and cry for me. What good is the higher specs if the camera doesn't do what you want it do, when you want?
