RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM and RF extenders

This is only 2/3 of a stop slower at the long end than the EF 100-400, but another 100m long. Most 100-400 lenses now are f6.3 so not a big deal to me. One thing is certain is that Canon is not afraid to make f7.1 lenses.

I'd bet a fair amount of money that is at least partly because the next series of cameras are going to feature new sensor tech making high ISO better than we have seen in the past. It was apparent from the M6 II that Canon had new sensor tech and just were rolling it out on that camera first before transitioning it to the FF cameras.

Looks as though the 1.4x and 2x extender are intended for that lens which means the new cameras can AF at f14.2!

Are there any specs on weight?
