Compact prime WA lenses is what I'd like to see, but I'm starting to have my doubts.

3rd party manufacturers seem committed to big (Sigma), fast, and frequently manual lenses, so I'm not overly optimistic.

I do wonder why none of them have launched small native primes, as the market seems wide open....

Count me in. Anywhere from f2.8 to even f4 would be fine. FF lenses do not have to be big and with todays high ISO we can think of using apertures that didn't work so hot in the old film days. A little thinking outside the box please.

A 28mm pancake is now on Nikon's roadmap. Hopefully Canon follows suit with something similar.

Funny you should mention that. I recently posted a thread showing the Nikon roadmap and lamenting how Nikon users have a roadmap so they can make intelligent buying choices. Somehow it disappeared with no explanation. Guess censorship here doesn't allow any criticism of Canon. Oh well.

A pancake lens or 2 would be nice certainly.  Maybe an RF equivalent of the 40 2.8 to go along with your desired 28 pancake.
