Some quick observations about the P950

All positive ones.

1. The tripod mount has been moved to a strong-looking location on the lens axis.  There were several reports of the P900's mount cracking in use.

The tripod ring I used on the P900 is a bit small for the P950, but may not be necessary now.

2. The EVF is excellent (similar to the P1000's) and is large enough to mount this rubber shield

3. Autofocus and stabilization do seem improved over the P900. I took a few shots of my reference yard light, and they were all in focus and without motion blur. With the P900 my autofocus success rate in similar light has been pretty marginal.

Overall seems worth the upgrade. Now to find a buyer for the P1000, which is just too heavy for me to handle with any enthusiasm.
