Too late for me. I abandoned the GX when Panasonic watered down the GX8 to satisfy all the whiners. It will take a monumental jump in tech to pry my G9 from my hands. I don’t see that happening with the GX10.
GX and G9 are aimed at a different market, not even remotely similar.
That may be true for the GX80 and GX800, but the GX8 had a fair amount of overlap with the G9.
How? While the GX8 isn’t the smallest camera in the M4/3 universe, the G9 is a bloated thing. The grip is downright uncomfortable.
If Panasonic keep a 3 tier GX line, more of us will be happy.
Now that's a first. Never ever heard of anyone saying the G9 grip is uncomfortable. Do you have odd shaped hands or something? None of my cameras have any type of strap. I wander round car shows for hours at a time simply holding them. The G9 for me, is hand down more comfortable than my GX8, & exponentially more comfortable than my EOS M. The only other thing that came closer was my old 6D with 40 pancake. Oh, & I have pretty average sized hands, according to my glove sizing.
I have quite large hands, actually. Size 10 gloves.
I was a stone carver, wood carver and carpenter. I KNOW tools. I know how they work. I know how they should feel in the hand. If you'd ever used a hammer, mallet or screwgun / drill for 8 + hours a day, you'd know, too.
If you can't close your hand over a tool, like most of the grips of today's cameras where your hand is extended open and not in a comfortable closed position, then your hand will be in constant tension. BAD BAD BAD.
Good Sir, have you ever cupped a bosom in a gentle open grip, that you'd deem unsustainable for 8+ hours a day?
